- Spread softened butter on the outside of both slices of bread.
- On the inside of the bread, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or Dijon mustard.
- Layer the cooked chicken breast on one slice of the bread.
- Add two slices of cheddar cheese on top of the chicken.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, butter-side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Press down gently with a spatula while it cooks.
- Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the pan.
- Let it rest for a minute before cutting.
