Ingredients
  

  • 1 English muffin, bagel, or preferred bread
  • 1-2 slices your favorite melting cheese American, cheddar, Swiss, etc.
  • 0.5 tablespoon Butter or olive oil for cooking
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Add-ins (cooked bacon, sausage, ham, tomato, spinach, avocado, hot sauce, ketchup, mayo)

Equipment

  • Toaster or toaster oven
  • Nonstick pan
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Split the English muffin or slice the bagel in half and toast it until golden and crispy.
  2. Heat a small nonstick pan over medium heat and add half a tablespoon of butter.
  3. Once the butter is melted, crack the egg into the pan and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the egg for 2-3 minutes until the white is set and the yolk is still runny, or longer if fully cooked is preferred.
  5. If using cheese, place it on top of the egg to melt.
  6. Once toasted, spread a thin layer of butter or desired condiment on the hot inside of the bread.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by placing the egg with cheese on the bottom piece of bread, adding any optional ingredients, and topping it with the other piece of bread.
  8. Gently press down to secure the sandwich and enjoy!
