Ingredients
  

  • 450 g ground beef or lamb/chicken if preferred
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 pie crust pre-made or homemade
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat; add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula and cooking until browned (roughly 5-7 minutes); season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Toss in the mixed vegetables and stir into the beef mixture; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Roll out the pie crust and press it gently into a pie dish; spoon the beef and veggie mixture into the crust and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  6. Optionally, cover with a second crust and cut a few slits for ventilation; brush the top crust with an egg wash for extra shine.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy; let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
