Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (optional, for extra cheesy kick)
  • q.s. Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat, add ground beef and season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked, then drain excess grease.
  3. Push beef to the side, melt butter in the skillet, and sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until golden.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and beef broth, stir, and bring to a low simmer. Add Parmesan and optional mozzarella, stirring until melted and smooth. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  5. Toss the cooked penne pasta in the sauce until well coated, allowing to simmer for a few more minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
