  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or dry white wine

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning or adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup Parmigiano Reggiano Parmesan cheese, grated

  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Chopping board and knife

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and season the steak with Cajun seasoning.
  2. Sear the steak in the heated skillet until browned and cooked to desired doneness, then set aside to rest.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, melt butter in the skillet, and cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until pink, then set aside.
  4. Sauté chopped garlic in the same skillet for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the skillet to deglaze.

Notes

Let the steak rest after searing to achieve maximum juiciness.
Adjust the Cajun seasoning to your taste for a milder or spicier kick.
This dish can also be made ahead of time; store components separately and reheat before serving for optimal freshness.
Fresh shrimp provide the best flavor, but frozen shrimp will work too if thawed properly.
