- In a skillet over medium heat, pour in the sugar and let it melt into a golden caramel.
- Once melted, add the butter and a pinch of salt, stirring until smooth.
- Line a terrine mold with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Arrange a single layer of apple slices in the mold and drizzle some caramel over them.
- Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used.
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F), cover the terrine with aluminum foil, and bake it for 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Once baked, let the terrine cool completely before refrigerating it for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
- To serve, unmold the terrine and slice it into thick pieces, drizzling extra caramel on top if desired.

Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle cinnamon or vanilla extract into the caramel. Don’t rush the caramel-making process; stir constantly for a perfect result. Store the terrine in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze individual slices wrapped in parchment. Thaw them in the fridge overnight before serving. To prevent browning, brush apple slices with lemon juice before layering. Pair it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence!
