Ingredients
  

  • 1 pie crust (pâte brisée) pie crust
  • 4 onions onions
  • 200 g goat cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Fresh thyme

  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling pin (if using homemade pie crust)
  • Measuring spoons and cups

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and thinly slice the onions.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add sliced onions.
  4. Cook onions for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown.
  5. Stir in honey and season with salt and pepper, cooking for another 5 minutes.
  6. Roll out the pie crust on parchment paper and transfer to a baking tray.
  7. Spread caramelized onions evenly over the crust, leaving a border around the edges.
  8. Crumble goat cheese over the onions and sprinkle fresh thyme if desired.
  9. Fold the edges of the pie crust over the filling.
  10. Bake the tart in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  11. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
