Ingredients
  

  • 200 g lardons (bacon bits)
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 250 g camembert
  • 1 onion
  • 200 ml crème fraîche
  • 1 clove garlic
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • to taste nutmeg (optional)
  • 100 g grated cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
  3. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  4. In a pan, cook the lardons with the chopped onion and garlic until golden and crispy.
  5. In a baking dish, layer potato slices, followed by cooked lardons, onions, garlic, and chunks of camembert, seasoning each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  6. Pour the crème fraîche over the layers and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
