Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef.
  2. Break the beef apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, adding Cajun seasoning.
  3. Push the beef to one side of the skillet and add the rice to the other side, toasting for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Mix the rice with the beef and add water or chicken broth.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender (about 15 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and stir in butter and freshly grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
