Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 12 marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 6 oz cherry chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup crushed salted peanuts

  • Double boiler (or a small bowl and a pot)
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, evaporated milk, salt, marshmallows, and margarine. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and let cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the cherry chips and vanilla extract. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch dish and let cool slightly.
  4. Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave. Add the peanut butter and crushed peanuts, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the cherry layer and spread evenly.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator until firm, about 1-2 hours. Once set, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Make sure to grease your pan well to prevent sticking. You can use non-stick spray or line the pan with parchment paper.
