Ingredients
  

  • 3.5 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 cup butter (for sauce)
  • 0.5 cup milk (for sauce)
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup cocoa (for sauce)
  • q.s. chocolate cubes for decoration
  • q.s. vanilla extract (for sauce) a sprinkle

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. In an electric mixer, combine the milk, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cocoa for about 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. In a deep bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt over the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and cocoa-lined tray and bake for 40-45 minutes, checking with a toothpick.
  5. While the cake bakes, melt the butter and milk in a small saucepan on low heat, then add powdered sugar, cocoa, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before pouring the chocolate sauce over the top and decorating with chocolate cubes.
