  • 80 g butter
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 70 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch salt
  • optional nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat your waffle iron to medium heat.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water or in the microwave until smooth and glossy.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the melted chocolate and butter to the egg and sugar mixture and fold together until combined.
  5. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined, adding optional mix-ins if desired.
  6. Pour a portion of the batter into the hot waffle iron and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until golden and crispy.
