  • ½ cup Softened Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 450 g Ground Beef
  • ¼ cup Diced Yellow Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard
  • ½ cup Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ cup Water
  • 1 cup Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Parsley (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cut the French bread lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, and kosher salt.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the bread slices.
  5. Bake the bread in the oven for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  6. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onions until browned and drain any excess fat.
  7. Add ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, water, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture.
  8. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Mix the shredded cheeses in a bowl.
  10. Spread the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly on both halves of the toasted bread and top generously with the cheese blend.
  11. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  12. Optional: Broil for 1 minute for an extra-crispy finish.
  13. Let the dish rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
