Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb steak tips or sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini, fresh or refrigerated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Colander
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions (5-7 minutes). Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Season the steak tips with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute. Return the steak to coat in the garlic butter and keep warm.
  4. In a separate pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, sauté minced garlic for 1 minute, then add heavy cream and cream cheese. Stir until smooth, adding Parmesan, mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine the cooked tortellini with the garlic cream sauce until well-coated.
  6. Serve the creamy tortellini topped with garlic butter steak, garnished with parsley and extra Parmesan.

Notes
