Ingredients
  

  • 2 steaks ribeye steaks, 1 inch thick about 12-14 oz each
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary optional, for flavor

  • Grill (gas or charcoal)
  • Meat thermometer
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels
  • Foil for resting

Method
 

  1. Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
  3. Rub both sides of the steaks with kosher salt and black pepper, then add the minced garlic.
  4. Preheat your grill to high, around 450F to 500F, and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time as necessary for desired doneness.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, add a small knob of butter on top of each steak and sprinkle with fresh rosemary.
  7. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-7 minutes covered lightly with foil.
  8. Slice the steaks against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
