Ingredients
  

  • 4 Golden Delicious or Pink Lady apples
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons raisins (optional)
  • 20 grams butter (optional, for added richness)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Wash the apples thoroughly and pat them dry. Core the apples, leaving a little base at the bottom.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg until smooth. Add walnuts and raisins if using.
  4. Place the prepared apples in a baking dish and fill each cavity with the spice mixture, pressing it in gently. Top with butter if desired.
  5. Pour about 1 cm of water into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 25–30 minutes until apples are tender.
  6. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and drizzle with remaining pan juices before serving.

Notes
