  • 225 g thinly sliced beef
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Method
 

  1. Soak 1 cup of short-grain rice in 2 cups of water for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Whisk together ½ cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon mirin, 1 teaspoon sugar, grated garlic, oyster sauce, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Marinate the thinly sliced beef in the sauce mixture while prepping other ingredients.
  4. Rinse the soaked rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
  5. Chop garlic, ginger, and onion, then add to the pot along with corn, butter, and marinated beef.
  6. Transfer everything to the rice cooker or pot, add remaining water, and start cooking.
  7. Once cooked, stir everything and garnish with sliced green onions and reserved sauce before serving.
