Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Measuring spoons
  • Chopping board
  • Sharp knife
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Method

  1. Prep your ingredients by cutting the chicken, slicing the bell peppers, chopping the onion, mincing the garlic and ginger, and washing the broccoli.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sesame oil, garlic, and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the onion, bell peppers, and broccoli, stir-frying for 4-5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, and stir to coat everything evenly. If using, mix cornstarch with water and add to the pan, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
