Ingredients
  

  • 6 fresh figs
  • 100 g fresh goat cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • q.s. fresh thyme a few sprigs
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • optional crushed walnuts for added crunch

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Rinse the figs gently under cold water and pat them dry.
  3. Make a small cross-shaped slit on the top of each fig, without cutting all the way through.
  4. Arrange the figs in a baking dish, cut-side up, and spoon about a teaspoon of goat cheese into each fig.
  5. Drizzle the figs with olive oil and honey, sprinkle fresh thyme, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10–15 minutes until the figs soften and the cheese turns golden.
  7. (Optional) Sprinkle crushed walnuts over the top after baking for added crunch.
  8. Serve the Roasted Fig Delight warm or at room temperature.
  9. Choose ripe but firm figs for best results.
