Notes

For a healthier option, substitute brown sugar with honey or maple syrup. If you don’t have root beer, cola or ginger ale can be used as a substitute. Choose high-quality root beer for the best flavor. Allow the dish to sit for a few minutes before serving for the flavors to meld. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven with a splash of water to prevent drying out.
