- Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, browning it while breaking it into small pieces.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Pour in the marinara sauce and 1 cup of water, then simmer for about 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper; mix until smooth.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer the meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, repeating the layers.
- Top with a final layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
