  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Hamburger buns for serving

Method
 

  1. Slice the onion into thin strips and caramelize it in a skillet with oil over medium heat for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Brown the ground beef in another skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and drain excess fat once cooked.
  3. Add the caramelized onions to the ground beef and stir in Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Toast the hamburger buns if desired, then spoon the beef and onion mixture onto the buns and serve immediately.
