  • 100 g smoked salmon
  • 100 g Boursin cheese or herb-flavored soft cheese
  • 2 slices melting cheese (like Gruyère or Emmental)
  • 1 tablespoon butter for toasting

Equipment

  • Nonstick skillet
  • Spatula
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Spread a thin layer of Boursin cheese on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place a generous layer of smoked salmon on two of the bread slices.
  3. Top the smoked salmon with a slice of melting cheese.
  4. Cover each prepared slice with another piece of bread, Boursin-side down.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Once melted, place the sandwiches in the pan.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they're golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once toasted, transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board and slice them diagonally. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra touch of luxury, drizzle lemon juice over the smoked salmon before assembling. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet to maintain crispiness. Feel free to substitute ingredients based on your preference; cream cheese mixed with herbs or whole-grain bread are great alternatives.
