Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb g large shrimp peeled and deveined, tails on
  • 1 cup g buttermilk
  • 1 cup g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • ⅔ cup g spicy honey homemade or store-bought
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with buttermilk until fully coated and let sit for 15 minutes at room temperature.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
  3. Shake off excess buttermilk from each shrimp and dredge generously in the seasoned flour, placing on a baking sheet.
  4. Pour about 2 inches of vegetable oil into a large pot and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer fried shrimp to a paper-lined tray and drizzle immediately with spicy honey.
  7. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the shrimp and serve hot.
