Ingredients
  

  • 2 ribeye steaks or your preferred cut
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for spice level
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic minced

Equipment

  • Large skillet preferably cast iron
  • Paper towels
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Method
 

  1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and mix the spices in a small bowl.
  2. Rub the spice blend all over the steaks and let them sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  4. Add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, then remove and let rest for 5 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  7. Stir in fresh lemon juice and mix well to coat the shrimp.
  8. Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve with the shrimp scampi, garnished with parsley.
