  • 1 cup butter
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 lb beef steak, sliced
  • for cooking olive oil

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Potato masher or ricer
  • Skillet
  • Knife and cutting board

  1. Start by peeling and cubing your potatoes. Place them in a large pot with the whole garlic cloves. Add enough water to cover the potatoes and bring it to a boil.
  2. Cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Once cooked, drain the water and return the potatoes to the pot. Add the butter and mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. While the potatoes are cooking, heat a skillet with a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  5. Spoon the garlic mashed potatoes into bowls and top with the sliced steak. Serve immediately.
