Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.

  4. Let the mixture cool for a minute, then whisk in eggs and vanilla extract for about 45-60 seconds until smooth.
  5. Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda over the wet mixture and gently fold together until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking at 25 minutes with a toothpick for a few moist crumbs.
